I was raised in Durham Region, Ontario, where I still live with my wife, two almost-grown sons, two chonky cats, and one silly dog.
My love of reading as a child led to an early passion for creative writing.
My stories have appeared in several literary journals, including The Antigonish Review. My short story, “June”, won Black Fox Literary Magazine’s “Secrets Unraveled” contest. My short story, “Balance”, received an Honourable Mention in the 2022 Winning Writers’ Tom Howard/John H. Reid Fiction & Essay Contest.
I work in the film and television industry as a researcher and have been fortunate to read scripts from some of the best Canadian films and TV shows over the last 20+ years.
I am a graduate of the Humber College journalism program (Toronto), and although I never became a journalist, I do consume an enormous amount of news content daily (when I should be writing).
I have also attended the Humber School for Writers’ summer workshop and correspondence programs.
In my time at Humber College, I had the opportunity to work with some of Canada’s most talented writers, who encouraged my passion for fiction writing, especially in the short story format. The lessons have stayed with me and are why I always, eventually, come back to a quiet place with a notebook and a pencil to “write the next sentence.”
